FITSPA Uganda
The Communications & Activities Officer plays a dual role in executing FITSPA’s communications strategy and supporting the delivery of FITSPA’s programs. The incumbent is responsible for managing digital platforms, media relations, and public-facing content to enhance the association’s visibility and brand positioning. Additionally, the Officer provides logistical and operational support for FITSPA’s activities/events, stakeholder engagements, and membership-related activities, ensuring high member engagement and participation in FITSPA activities.

Location: Financial Technology Service Providers Association (FITSPA)
Status: Full-Time
Experience Required: 2–3 years’ experience in:
- Social media management and digital content creation
- Writing and editing for public communications
- Project or event coordination
- Stakeholder or member relations
- Logistics planning and execution
- Marketing or communications, preferably in tech or innovation-driven environments
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Program Implementation
- Coordinate logistical aspects of FITSPA activities including scheduling, venue booking, vendors’ coordination, speaker coordination, and participant registration to ensure activities are timely, impactful, and deliver member value.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and records of all activities, including attendance, feedback, and deliverables.
- Monitor developments in the Fintech ecosystem to support the relevance and innovation of FITSPA’s programming.
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Member Support
- Mobilize and communicate with members regarding events, opportunities, and sector developments.
- Serve as the primary liaison between FITSPA and its partners and stakeholders, ensuring timely communication of opportunities, collaborative initiatives, and the effective mobilization of members for participation in events, programs, and strategic engagements.
- Facilitate dialogue and relationship-building among members, partners, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Collect and compile feedback from members to inform communication and event improvements.
- Propose and implement ideas to enhance member visibility and value through FITSPA communication channels.
3. Communications & Public Relations
- Execute FITSPA’s communications strategy across social media, newsletters, website, and other digital platforms.
- Draft and edit engaging content including press releases, blogs, reports, and member updates.
- Manage FITSPA’s social media presence, ensuring timely, relevant, and professional content.
- Support media outreach and manage relationships with journalists and press contacts.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity across all communication materials.
4. Website Management
- Regularly update FITSPA’s website with events, publications, opportunities, and member highlights.
- Coordinate with service providers or internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve site functionality.
- Monitor and report on website analytics, making content and structural recommendations based on user engagement.
5. Event Management & Branding
- Provide logistical and communication support for FITSPA’s events, including the Annual Fintech Conference and major stakeholder forums.
- Develop promotional and visibility materials including brochures, banners, presentations, and signage.
- Ensure consistent branding and a professional image across all FITSPA events and activities.
- Document events through high quality photography, videography, and post-event reporting.
- Coordinate with vendors, venues, and service providers to ensure seamless event execution.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Track and analyze the performance of communication initiatives, activities and events.
- Generate insights from social media and event engagement metrics to inform improvements.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports to the Membership & Programs Lead.
