Finance Trust Bank was licensed as a Tier 1 Commercial Bank on 11th November, 2013, taking over the financial services business of Uganda Finance Trust Limited (MDI). Today Finance Trust Bank is a fully-fledged commercial bank serving a clientele of over 400,000 depositors and over 37,000 borrowers, through a network of 34 branches country wide. The bank offers a variety of Products and services including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.

In order to meet the needs of its growing customer base, the company is seeking to recruit dynamic, self-motivated, result oriented professionals to fill the following position;

CREDIT ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

This position reports directly to the Credit Administration Supervisor and will be based at the Head Office of the Bank.

Role of the Job:

Responsible for proper handling of credit monitoring and reporting activities and preparation of all different credit reports in line with credit policy and procedures.

Key Result Areas:  

  • Loan documentation, monitoring & administration
    1. Maintain post – disbursement issues register to ensure that the issues are met in the agreed period.
    2. Review daily disbursement report to confirm correct charging of processing fees, stamp duty, Insurance, interest rate in line with the credit policy.
    3. Maintain and updating the file movement registers on a day today basis. Receive, record, maintain full custody for all customers.
    4. Resource center for Credit data/information.
    5. Systems documentation and data integrity e.g. Support branches in customizing data in the system as approved.
    6. Scrutiny and receipt of security documents vs offer letter, approval sheet, etc.
    7. Receive loan files from branches/HO, review and prepare the offer letters before signoff.
    8. Maintenance of proper, accurate and complete information/loan data in the system.
    9. Follow-up of post disbursement conditions
    10. Follow up the implementation of Audit issues.
    11. Monitoring expiring insurance policies in the system for renewal
    12. Working with ICT in case of any amendments in Br net system i.e. (new products, changes in pricing).
    13. Buy off management, processing and verifying security release documents
    14. Handling loan issues from branches and working with ICT to ensure that they are resolved.
    15. Review the loan reports to identify newly disbursed loans with incorrect interest rate, loans in arrears, loans whose maturity exceeds the expiry date and follow up for corrective action.
    16. Identify and maintain a daily track for all insider credit facilities and proactively ensure all are reported monthly in line with the credit policy.
    17. Obtain cause of default for all nonperforming credit facilities and group them into different categories

    Reporting

    1. Prepare accurate NPA and NPR Analysis report monthly in line with the credit policy.
    2. Prepare accurate Loan to value report as per BOU format and the Quarterly Monitoring Report in line with the credit policy.
    3. Prepare credit risk report (CRR) in accordance with the BOU reporting template
    4. Prepare the watch listed report in line with the guidelines
    5. Prepare accurate Top borrowers report based on BOU format on Quarterly basis and report on monthly basis for the credit report and ensure timely submission
    6. Prepare accurate Growth and various report monthly in line with the credit policy.

Minimum educational and technical competence requirements:

  • A Business degree in Commerce, Business Administration or any related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Credit operations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced, computer literacy, numerical skills and statistical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL
  • Team player, ability to work under pressure and in position to exercise excellent judgment.
  • Financial analysis skills
  • Ability to build functioning working relationships across organizational, corporate, and cultural boundaries.
  • Takes clear accountability and focuses on delivery of broader corporate goals.
  • Ability to take decisions and progress towards goals in conditions of uncertainty.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive image and uphold FTB values.
  • Must be a person of integrity.
