Our client is the country’s leading manufacturer and supplier of roofing sheets and has the widest range of roofing products in galvanized, aluminium-zinc coated and pre-painted material. Uganda Baati is a specialist in providing customized roofing solutions. On behalf of Uganda Baati we are looking for competent and experienced Customer Service Executives – Showroom (4) to be based in Fortportal, Kamuli, Masaka and Tororo
Reports To: The Customer Service Manager
Duty Station: Fortportal. Kamuli, Masaka, Tororo, Uganda
Job Summary: The Customer Service Executive – Showroom is responsible for providing a welcoming and professional experience to all walk-in customers. This role involves assisting clients with inquiries about products and services, guiding them through the selection process, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. The executive also handles order processing, manages customer complaints, and coordinates with internal departments to ensure timely delivery and service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and assist walk-in customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products or services.
- Provide accurate information on product features, pricing, availability, and warranties.
- Guide customers through the sales process and assist with product selection.
- Prepare and process sales orders, invoices, and payment receipts.
- Coordinate with the sales and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Follow up with customers after sales to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Maintain a customer database and update records regularly.
- Ensure the showroom is clean, well-organized, and displays are well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform management of low-stock items.
- Provide daily/weekly reports on customer visits, sales performance, and feedback.
- Share customer insights and suggestions for service or product improvement.
- Work closely with the sales, marketing, and inventory teams to meet customer needs.
- Participate in product training and team meetings.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Customer Service or related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of the manufacturing industry.
- Strong experience in handling sales transactions, customer complaints and inventory coordination.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Sales-oriented with persuasive and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
Barriers to Success in Role
- Limited or lack of knowledge of sales and customer service.
- Inability to speak Rutooro, Lusoga, Luganda or Ateso languages
- Inability to influence and negotiate.
