Job description.
Position Summary: The Field Assistant will be responsible for Sponsorship program and implementation of community mobilisation activities in target areas. S/he will ensure communit participation in various programmes of the Organisation. S/he will supervise and facilitate community-level activities, including sensitization drives, community meetings, health outreaches, training sessions, and workshops, in line with indicators and in pursuit of the objectives of the organisation’s programmes and projects.
Location: Good Neighbors International Uganda (GNIUG) Community Development Project (CDP) area (sub-county level) in Pallisa district
Responsible to: Program department and Income Generation Department officers and managers, Country Director
Responsible for supporting the execution of all project-related activities. These include:
Major Responsibilities
Implement sponsorship program, Manage and collect data of sponsorship children and schools in CDP
Supports the implementation of Community development Projects (CDPs) raised and set by the organization.
Work at the community level to implement activities in accordance with project plans.
Upholds and achieves the standards of the organizational goals and primary objectives.
Assistance in formative research, baseline assessments, and community mapping, including the development of evaluation protocols, tools, training, and data collection in the field.
Coordinate with the CDCs (Community Development Committees) and local authorities to ensure impact.
Mobilize and organize communities for meetings, outreaches, trainings and capacity- building programs.
Facilitate behaviour, change campaigns at the community level.
Provide continued on-the-ground support to project officers and experts in the project helping to organize and deliver project activities.
Report and follow up on activities as required
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Networking
Liaise with all key stakeholders at the CDP (Community development project) level and other partners’ support to development projects within the target communities.
Facilitate and maintain relationships with community leaders, community members and structures such as CDCs, VHTs, SMCs, PTAs etc, core groups and community focal persons.

Personal Specification
Knowledge
Has basic computer skills in using Word, Excel and e-mail.
Knowledge and understanding of community development.
Qualifications:
At least an A-level certificate, Any teacher-level qualification.
Diploma and Degree in any related discipline is an added advantage.
Has experience in working with Local communities and the ability to coordinate people at all levels, government partners, donors, communities and staff with diplomacy and collaboration.
Experience & Qualifications
At least 2+ years of experience in Community mobilization-related interventions with A-level certificate and teacher-level qualification or a career starter diploma or a bachelor’s degree. Must have the ability to work independently and work with teams.
Must have the ability to work under pressure.
Good Communication and interpersonal skills with community people.
Sociable, responsive, and committed.
Must be accountable and transparent.

Available to travel on short notice to fulfill job responsibilities.

Age range: 23–35 years.
Terms & Conditions
A Full-time (40 working hours per week) contract until December 31 st , 2025, is offered, subject to a six-month probationary period. Subject to funding, the position may be renewed.
Salary will be commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
