Job title: Syrup Room Team Leader
Work Location: Hariss International Limited – Kampala, Uganda
Division / Department: Syrup Room
Reports to: Processing Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensuring that hygiene in syrup room is maintained as per GMP and GHP requirements.
Ensuring that the necessary CIPS are carried out as per the production plan.
Ensuring that ingredients are weighed accurately and as per recipe specifications.
Ensuring that all final syrup preparations are carried out as per given schedules and procedures. This involves ensuring that the right quantities of dry ingredients, flavors, water and raw syrup are measured and used following the mixing procedures.
Ensuring that batch controls are carried out accurately as per product specifications before dispatching any batch to the premix.
Monitoring and controlling processes at the premix units and ozoner.
Ensuring that the prerequisite measurements which include raw and final syrup brix measurements are accurate, carrying out batch control measurements and water TDS, PH and chlorine concentration as per the mixing procedures are carried out accurately.
Liaising with water treatment personnel, dissolver personnel, quality department and filler personnel to ensure the smooth running of the system.
Report writing.
Perform any other task as per management request.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
BSc in Chemistry/Biology/Food Sciences and/or HND or equivalent from a reputable Institute
At least 2-3 years hands-on in the Food Industry. Beverage manufacturer is a distinct advantage.
Familiar with Carbonated Soft Drinks and/or water treatment plant.
Food Safety and Hygiene handling techniques
Key Requirements:

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
