Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a passionate Volunteer Counsellor to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will support the emotional and psychological wellbeing of young people in street situations and juvenile rehabilitation settings, playing a critical role in their healing, reintegration, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
Provide counselling services to street-connected children and juveniles.
Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychosocial support activities.
Assist in designing trauma-informed interventions.
Work closely with our team of clinical psychologists, social workers, trainers, and family mediators.
Offer emotional support during family tracing, mediation, and reintegration processes.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical counselling standards.
Who We Are Looking For
A background in counselling, psychology, or a related field.
Experience (or strong interest) in working with vulnerable children and youth.
Ability to communicate fluently in Acholi.
Compassionate, patient, and committed to youth development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
