Position Overview

The Research Assistants will support the dentistry antimicrobial stewardship research activities. This position involves supporting administrative roles, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of research findings.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possesses strong research skills, and should have some experience in implementing antimicrobial resistance and stewardship projects with skills in improving AMS practices related to antimicrobial use in dental care.

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities

Delivery of project activities including Data Collection and Management:

Collect, organize, and maintain research data in compliance with ethical standards.
Participate in scheduled protocol updates.
Carry out ethnographic observations, conduct semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions for work package 1 alongside the PIs.
Conduct evaluation of project intervention for work package 2 working along side the Project investigators (PIs)
Design, organise and hold co-development of behaviour change workshops for Work package 2.
Conduct evaluation of the project intervention for Work Package 3.
Administrative support:

Support all administrative requirements for project implementation while ensuring that all IDI values are maintained.
Coordinate with dental professionals, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders involved in the project for smooth project implementation.
Participate in the project weekly meetings to discuss progress and next steps.
Develop and maintain schedules for health facility data collection activities with the responsible stakeholders at the selected sites for the study
Ensure monthly and weekly reports are completed and submitted accordingly.
Data Analysis:

Transcribe the data collected
Support thematic analysis of the collected data working along with the PIs
Prepare reports to summarize findings.
Support in the quantitative analysis process during the evaluation of the project intervention in Work package 3.
Documentation and Dissemination:

Participate in writing abstracts, and research findings for publication and presentation in conferences.
Contribute to the organisation of the research dissemination workshops.
Academic Qualifications
Diploma in Nursing/dentistry/Clinical medicine
Person Specification
The Ideal candidate should hold a Diploma in Nursing/Dentistry/Clinical Medicine.

A degree is an added advantage.

Must have atleast one year of relevant experience.
