Job Title: Agronomy Coordinator
Work Location: Kasese
Part of Volcafe Group, Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd is Uganda’s oldest licensed Coffee Exporter, established in 1992.
Kyagalanyi produces and exports green Robusta and Arabica (washed and natural) coffee from all major growing areas in Uganda, with the vision of making coffee business better, together.

Job purpose
The Agronomy Coordinator will support the Scheme Manager in scheduling and allocating tasks while working closely with the field team to execute agronomy, certification, sourcing, and traceability workplans in the scheme
Duties and responsibilities
Train and backstop the field team to ensure that they are conversant with the latest information and trends in coffee agronomy, certification standards, and the internal inspection.
Carry out quality verification checks on work execution, including and not limited to inspection data, farmer training, and commercial farm/model farm to ensure authenticity and completeness.
Implementing corrective action(s) plans and/or programs stemming from both internal and external audits for compliance with the Certification Standard.
Supervise, guidance, and track performance of the field team.
• Schedule agronomy trainings rollout and supervise training quality and provide relevant verification data, including attendance lists, photos, and training geolocations.
Ensure management and continuity of commercial farms (model farms), including new farmer enrollment, input distribution, recovery of the loan, and maintenance of records.
Monitor the use of work tools issued to the field team and ensure that tools are used within KCL guidelines.
Collecting and managing data on commercial farms/model farm follow-ups, rainfall, flowering, soil, and bulking or collection centers
• Compile periodic reports (as maybe required) on work progress.
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or relevant discipline
Minimum 2-3 years’ relevant work experience in coffee value chains, and in working in the field with coffee farmers.
Strong working experience with implementation of international certification standards such as RA, AAA and
C.A.F.E|
Sound knowledge of and experience in working with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
Knowledge of local language(s) spoken in Kasese region is an added advantage.
Good knowledge of Kasese region. Previous working experience in Kasese region is an added advantage.
