About Us: The Mbale Clinical Research Institute (MCRI) is a center of excellence in evidence-
based clinical research, training, and innovation located in Eastern Uganda at the Mbale
Regional Referral Hospital complex. MCRI is dedicated to progressive research collaborations
with esteemed institutions, including Busitema University, Imperial College London, and
EDCTP. We are now seeking a motivated and experienced individuals to fill the position of Trial
Nurses for the SMAART-MAP trial focusing on malaria in children.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist study nurses and clinicians in transporting patient files, study forms, and
laboratory samples between wards, laboratories, and study offices.
• Ensure timely and safe delivery of clinical trial materials within the hospital.
• Maintain proper records of delivered and received study samples, documents and other
materials.
• Support study teams in organizing patient files, follow-up schedules, and logistical needs
on the ward.
• Observe strict confidentiality and ethical conduct as guided by the study protocol and
hospital regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of certificate in Nursing
• Good Clinical Practice certificate
• Previous experience in hospital or clinical research settings is an added advantage.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Physically fit, punctual, organized, and able to work in a demanding environment
Desirable Skills:
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Good interpersonal skills and professional conduct.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to clinical research standards.
