NIC Holdings Limited, formerly National Insurance Corporation, was established in 1964 as a government parastatal and has grown into a leading insurance and financial services provider in Uganda. In 2014, it was restructured into a Holding Company with two subsidiaries:

Job Title : Head Corporate Communication (CCD)
Reports to : Managing Director
Purpose : To plan, implement, and monitor the company’s strategies relating to internal and external communication, branding, media relations, and promotional content. The role ensures consistent messaging and strong brand presence in line with company communication policies and branding guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute corporate communication strategies in consultation with the Managing Director, aligned with company policies and business objectives.
Monitor media coverage and cultivate positive relationships with the press and key stakeholders to proactively manage and protect the company’s public image.
Conduct media monitoring, isolate relevant information on NIC Holdings in print and electronic media and bring it to management attention in line with communication policy and procedures.
Arrange and coordinate management of internal and external communication including staff newsletter, news interviews, press conference/releases and MD’s speech in line with company policy guidelines.
Develop, implement and monitor execution of advertisements on radio, television, social media handles and print in line with the Company marketing strategies and business plan.
Identify branding needs and develop brand concepts including concepts for press, electronic and point of sale materials, annual reports and staff handbooks to ensure consistency with the brand standards and values.
Periodic update of Company website, information archive including newspaper scans, publication and circulation of the news bulletins in conjunction with Manager IT and in line with company communication policy.
Plan and coordinate the implementation of brand application internally to staff and across all brand touch points in order to ensure consistency of the brand across all service points.
Coordinate the management and branding of company’s events, participation in fairs/exhibitions in line with the company’s marketing strategies.
Plan, implement the production and ensure timely provision and distribution of branded promotional materials in line with the corporate branding guidelines.
Plan, execute and monitor the sustainability of corporate social responsibility programs approved by the Board in line with the Company’s core values, policies and procedures
Coordinate the activities of the company’s investor and stakeholders’ unit.
Supervise the company’s activities in relation to the prompt handling of complaints and customer feedback.
Perform any other professional duties as assigned by Management.
Job Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. Post graduate diploma in Communications is an added advantage.
Masters’ degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate communication, with at least two (2) years at a supervisory or managerial level.
Prior experience in the insurance or financial services sector is highly desirable.
