Location: Gayaza, Namavundu.
Position/ role: Programs Director.
Reports to: Executive Director.
Schedule: Fulltime, Monday to Friday.
Job Summary.
The incumbent shall have overall strategic and operational responsibility over all Organization’s thematic program arears. Shall be responsible for the development, management and evaluation of a growing staff of 7 volunteers, leads in the development of partnerships, funding and grant plans and processes and serves as a key liaison to various stakeholders.
Responsibility.
Provide diverse, effective program works to the rural transgender womn in Wakiso District in a safe, gender affirming space; advance the Prism missions and services constituting; Mental health, shelter and relocation support, economic empowerment and social inclusion, resource mobilization, capacity building, Sexual and Reproductive Heath
Leadership and team management.
Perform the general human resource function; recruitment, development, engagement and succession; remuneration, performance management, timelines and schedules
Develop and update appropriate training protocols for organization staff and volunteers / development schedules.
Work collaboratively with senior management team to facilitate cross program activities, information and input.
Supervise all departmental units.
Seek and facilitate the team’s application and admission to strategic training and development opportunities to further enrich their capacities towards the achievement of the organization’s missions and objectives
Program Development.
Collaboratively work with the CEOs to assess transgender community needs, solicit input from stakeholders, donors to develop projects pertinent to their needs and growth.
Develop and grow sustainable (Womxn Transgender) WTGs support programs aligning with the organization’s mission, objectives, vision and strategic plan.
Collaborate with the senior management team to establish funding and revenue generating (Fundraising) programs or activities.
Review and update or develop department, management and administration policies to facilitate coordination, professionalism and accountability.
Operations and management.
Develop effective, cost efficient systems, tools and standards to support knowledge, information and coordination among units.
Work with the Executive Director, M&E and finance to develop the annual workplan and budget needs for the organization, establish and ensure adherence to the fiscal controls as of the financial, HR policy and Grant/ Project standards.
Ensure the organization fully complies with all statutory, labor and grant/ project provisions and regulatory procedures, standards and processes.
Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships.
Formally and professionally represent Prism at collaborative, mission aligning partner engagements; events, meetings, workshops, conferences fellowships, trainings and the like.
Build, sustain professional working relationships with partners and stakeholders; aligning CBOs, NOOs, parastatals, networks, Government agencies and international and regional NGOS.
Role requirement.
The suitable candidate should possess the following.
A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, Project Planning and Management.
A proven 3 years’ experience in fundraising, NGO work, proposal writing and grant management.
Adept knowledge in computer skills in operations, meetings and reporting.
Desirable attributes and skills.
Ability to simultaneously serve multiple roles and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity and passion for working with gender diverse persons
Thorough understanding and competence in project design, proposal writing and donor relationship building.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to steer growth in line with the organization’s missions, objectives and vision.
