Job Purpose

To ensure the security, availability, and efficient operation of the organization’s network infrastructure and IT systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and firewalls.
Monitor and respond to security breaches, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Implement and maintain network access controls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus solutions.
Conduct regular network and system security audits and risk assessments.
Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Ensure reliable operation and performance of network equipment and services.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network and security-related issues.
Maintain up-to-date network and security documentation.
Train users and IT staff on cybersecurity awareness and protocols.

Person Specifications

Academic Qualifications

An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Cybersecurity, Networking or Information Systems is an added advantage.
Professional certifications such as CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are an added advantage.

Work Experience

At least five (5) years’ experience in IT networking and security, three (3) of which should have been at Officer level in a reputable organization.
