MOLD OPERATORS

Qualifications: Degree, Diploma and Craft III certificate in engineering and in-depth technical knowledge of the specific machine
Experience: 2+ years
Responsibilities:
ï‚· Monitor molten steel flow and ensure that the mold is correctly aligned before starting the pouring process
ï‚· Setting up and operating the CCM to produce steel Billets according to specifications
ï‚· Manage the pouring of the molten steel into the mold at a controlled rate and regulate the cooling system for proper solidification of the steel.
ï‚· Monitoring the casting process. Serving the continuous operation of the machine and making adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality and prevent malfunctions
ï‚· Control cooling zones to achieve the desired cooling rate
ï‚· Manage operation of the assigned machine and also work to ensure that they are well maintained by setting up and operating the equipment to produce orders within specification.
ï‚· Perform periodic inspections for internal and surface defects such as cracks or porosity depending on prior communication from the in-charge
ï‚· Monitor the working of the machines and work to provide finished materials according to specifications required.
ï‚· Report the need for improvement or defect on the machine to the in charge or Plant Manager.
ï‚· Maintain a report of the total amount of billets manufactured in a day and other reports.
ï‚· Any other duties assigned
ï‚· Must wear PPE and adhere to all safety rules
Authority:
1. Reports to the Section In charge
Interfaces: (titles of people you deal with, e.g. from other departments, sections, customers)

5. Store keepers
6. Supervisors
Environmental & Safety responsibilities and Ethics:
ï‚· Ensure cleanliness around your work area.
ï‚· Enforce PPE usage by employees in the plant at all times.
ï‚· Guidance and on-the job training of workers especially new ones in good environmental maintenance and safer working procedures in order to reduce occupational accidents.
ï‚· Assist management to identify resources required to improve EHS in the company.
ï‚· Ensure good housekeeping in the plant i.e. immediate cleaning of coolants and oil spillages, emptying of waste bins, shift of scrap from respective workplace.
ï‚· Ensure proper use of waste bins and their availability at the designated respective locations in your section.
ï‚· Assist in taking corrective actions for any EHS deficiencies identified during audits or day to day observations.
ï‚· Facilitate security of company staff and property.
ï‚· Encourage teamwork for the purpose of a smooth and prosperous management
ï‚· Help create a culture and atmosphere of hard work and high personal integrity.
ï‚· Safeguard the company’s systems and Terms and Conditions of employment.
