Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Technical Support and Operations Manager for our health program in Uganda. This role is key in ensuring the smooth operation of our technical infrastructure supporting our health initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and a passion for improving healthcare through technology.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to staff members utilising health program technology platforms.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to software, hardware, and network infrastructure.
- Develop and implement protocols for diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with the tech and product team to resolve complex technical Issues.
2. System Administration:
- Oversee the administration of health program databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Manage user access and permissions for various systems, adhering to privacy regulations and best practices.
- Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery testing to minimise data loss risks.
3. Training and Documentation:
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for staff and healthcare providers on using health program technology platforms.
- Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development among team members.
4. Compliance and Security:
- Stay informed about relevant regulations and standards in the healthcare and technology sectors.
- Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive health data from unauthorised access or breaches.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics or related field.
- Proven experience in technical support, system administration, or IT operations, preferably in a healthcare or related setting.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare technology systems, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchanges (HIE), and telehealth platforms.
- Proficiency in system administration tasks such as user management, data backup, and performance monitoring.
- Project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage timelines, and allocate resources effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations such as HIPAA and GDPR.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position based in either Kampala or Masaka. Travels to project sites and other locations may be required periodically.
