Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) is a corporate body responsible for regulation of civil aviation in Uganda. It manages Entebbe International Airport (EIA) and thirteen (13) other upcountry aerodromes. UCAA carries out its work in conformity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). The Authority plans to recruit suitably qualified Ugandans of impeccable integrity and commitment to fill the following position in its establishment as detailed below: –

POSITION : NETWORK ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
REPORTS TO : PRINCIPAL SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
SALARY LEVEL : Grade – 10

JOB PURPOSE: This position exists to provide Network Administration service to UCAA that results in operational efficiencies and effectiveness and thereby contribute towards the attainment of UCAA’s objectives.
Essential Requirements
1. An honours Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Electrical Engineering
OR
Any honours Bachelor’s degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science.
2. AGE: From 25 to 40 years.
Desirable Requirements
Certification in Network Administration is an added advantage.
Experience
At least 3 years’ relevant work experience with working knowledge of the following:-
• Structured cabling and termination for both copper and fibre.
• Installation and configuration of network active elements including hubs, switches, modems, and routers.
• Network security administration.
• Performance monitoring and tuning of the LAN and WAN.
• Installation and configuration of PABX nad other communication equipment.
• Configuration of physical security and control measures.
• Configuration of internet and distributed systems.
